A lifelong voyage.

My latest paintings focus on imagery drawn from dreams and memories, prioritizing imagination over the direct observation of nature or strictly formal abstract compositions. In these pieces, I explore unnatural points of view, often positioning the viewer as if they are floating above a scene or intentionally distorting the relationship between the foreground and background. I am also experimenting with artificial lighting to give the compositions a staged quality. Through these techniques, I aim to translate an internal world into a tangible reality.

2000-2010 Works

Lots of experimenting in this decade with painting in different mediums with different subject matter and compositional approaches.
I think these works are about place and time while trying to avoid nostalgia and sentimentality.

2010-2020 Works

I painted some completely abstract pieces during this time which was challenging and engaging. It helped me see in a new way. It also helped me to loosen up my brushwork with my other work.
Note:  I painted "Hills on Rt.7" and "Reoccurring Dream"- 2 compositions I returned to years later.

2020-Today Works

During the last six years I have become more comfortable jumping between abstract and representative painting. I feels natural to go back and fourth because I feel a fresh challenge when switching gears. I added re-painting to my routine. It's another way to keep switching things up to stay inspired.
